Weldments & frames

What are custom weldments?

A weldment is a structure or assembly built by welding multiple steel parts into one — frames, bases, brackets, and structural assemblies. Custom weldments and steel weldments are the backbone of racks, machinery, and equipment.

SPF handles weldment fabrication end to end — cut, form, machine, robotic-weld, and finish under one roof. 30+ MIG/TIG stations plus FANUC robotic welding deliver consistent, repeatable weldments at production volume.

We build weldments and frames for transportation and trailer, industrial machinery and OEM, energy, and general manufacturing programs.

Weldments

Custom weldments & assemblies.

SPF builds custom weldments and multi-part structural assemblies to your print — from single brackets to large welded structures. We combine robotic and manual welding across FANUC cells and 30+ MIG stations so runs stay consistent and repeatable, whether you need prototypes or production volume.

Because we cut, form, weld, and finish under one roof, a weldment moves from laser and press brake straight into welding without leaving the plant. Weld fixtures hold parts square and true, and CMM inspection verifies critical features to tolerances as tight as ±0.005" where your drawing calls for it.

Frames & skids

Frames, bases & skids.

Metal frame fabrication is core work here: steel frames, machine bases, equipment frames, mounting frames, sub-frames, and heavy-duty skids and carts. We fabricate rigid, dimensionally stable structures that support machinery, tooling, and material-handling loads day in and day out.

Press-brake forming to 230 tons and in-house SolidWorks design let us take a frame from concept or print to finished weldment. See the full range of custom manufacturing services that back every frame and skid we build.

Weld & finish

Welding & finishing options.

Frames and weldments are welded by AWS-certified welders using both FANUC robotic welding and 30+ manual MIG stations, matching the right process to your part, material, and volume. Robotic cells deliver repeatable welds on higher-volume programs while manual stations handle complex, low-volume, and heavy work.

Finishing happens in-house too — powder coat in large ovens plus wet paint — so your weldments ship coated and complete, not waiting on an outside vendor. Cut, form, weld, and finish under one roof means one accountable source for the whole frame.

FAQ

Weldments & Frames — answered.

Do you build weldments at production volume?

Yes. With FANUC robotic welding and 30+ MIG/TIG stations we build weldments and frames at production volume, built to print.

Can you handle large or heavy frames?

Yes — press-brake forming to 230 tons and heavy welding let us build large, heavy structural frames and weldments.

Do you finish the weldments too?

Yes. In-house powder coat and wet paint mean your weldments ship finished, not waiting on an outside coater.

What kinds of frames, bases, and skids do you fabricate?

We fabricate steel frames, machine bases, equipment and mounting frames, sub-frames, weld fixtures, and heavy-duty skids and carts — cut, formed, and welded to your print.

What tolerances can you hold on metal frame fabrication?

We hold tight tolerances — down to ±0.005" where the print calls for it — with in-house SolidWorks design and CMM inspection to verify critical features on frames and weldments.
